Updated: Mr. Columbus Cody Announced as VS’s 19-20 Teacher of the Year!

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE. MNPS Virtual School is pleased to announce Mr. Columbus Cody as the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year! Since 2002 Columbus has taught Physical Education in several MNPS schools, including MNPS Virtual School.  Cody’s passion for teaching is contagious and well-known by students and faculty of our school. “Mr. Cody is gifted at relationship building,” says Dr. James Vince Witty, Executive Principal of MNPS Virtual School. Witty continues, “This gift allows Cody to break down barriers and move students towards greater levels of success and achievement.”  

During Mr. Columbus Cody’s time at MNPS Virtual School, he has instructed Physical Education and Lifetime Wellness courses at the middle and high school levels.  “Being a teacher of MNPS Virtual School has been such a great experience,” notes Columbus.  He continues, “When students know that you are always there for them, they seek to push themselves to do better in your class.  I am overjoyed to experience students, in my class, improving their overall fitness and wellness levels.” Please help the faculty and staff of MNPS Virtual School congratulate Mr. Columbus Cody, our 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year!
